I really liked reading all of Nicholas Sparks' books, especially the first five, but this one wasn't my favorite.

The relationship between the main characters seems to be lacking something, or it is more story-driven than the time they actually spend and enjoy together. Unlike in earlier books, there is a deeper sense of connection or understanding between the lines.

I have also review this book on other platforms like shabd.in , notionpress and kindle. You can also read that.

I’ve always been a huge Nicholas Sparks fan, and this book did not let me know. I will say, it was very different than his normal style in some ways- however I was here for it and loved how he crafted the writing to be a new style for him. It also had me trying to figure out possible scenarios to the story and was so happy with how it all flowed together. I didn’t expect to cry on the literal last 5 sentences but it was the perfect place and ending. Do not sleep on this novel!

I love Nicholas Sparks but this one fell flat. There were two story lines. One a young man on vacation with a passion for music falls in love and the other story line a woman who is fleeing her abusive husband with her young son. The romance one didn’t pull me in but was pulled in with the woman’s story. Then the stories intersect and I was surprised with how. I was disappointed we only got to see the ending from his point of view. I really wanted to see in her head after everything happened. This is my least favorite of his books.

Really enjoyed reading all of nicholas sparks novels specially first five of them BUT this one didn't hit the spot....

There seems something missing or the realtionship between main characters is more narrative than the actual time they spend and enjoyed together. The deep feeling or connection and in between the lines understanding is not as in previous novels .

In my opinion, this book contained themes from other Nicholas Sparks books. In particular, my mind kept going back to Safe Haven as I read the sections titled Beverly. This book is split between the alternating stories of Colby and Beverly. Colby, a farmer with an amazing talent for song writing and singing finds the love of his life. But is it too good to be true and will he keep her from her chance at succeeding as a music star. And Beverly, the story of a woman running from a husband trying to protect her son. Until turmoil hits and it goes from two separate stories to one that’s entirely intertwined. When the tragedies hit, I’ve never read so fast to figure out the outcome. But in true Nicholas Sparks fashion, everything works out in the end and true love and family wins out.

A story, with a twist I didn't quite see and pick up until the end. There is something captivating about stories like this. I often what is so intriguing about Nicholas Sparks writing, but there is something about the day to day things that are described that make you want to continue to read his stories. Colby was an interesting character, and I feel as though you don't see the true depth of him until the towards the end of the book. Without giving too much away, I really did enjoy this story. And learned a few things regarding mental health, that I found interesting.

This book is made up of two entirely different stories which only come together in the last few chapters. While I loved the Colby parts of the book, I was not drawn to Beverly as much. Though, I did love the ending. Overall just a good, easy read. Not my favorite of his books, though.
